Yamaha R1 Motorcycle State Of The Art
The 2009 Yamaha R1 motorcycle : Cutting-Edge Power and Control
Yamaha R1 bike had a solid reputation as one of the best sport bikes available over the last 10 years.
First, let's quickly cover the basic specs of 2009 Yamaha R1 motorbikes before getting sidetracked by describing all of the new technology it features. The engine is capable of 180 h.p. All this power is at present available for less than $12,500.
Crossplane crankshaft technology is a very technical, really advanced machine, and a full clarification of it might easily fill its own article. , we'll try and describe it in the briefest, simplest layman's term we can.
The pistons, in turn, drive the crankshaft. The crankshaft turns the reciprocal motion of the pistons into rotational motion that eventually turns the rear wheel of the motorcycle. This interpretation from reciprocal to rotational motion is never perfect. Energy is always lost when motion changes form, not to mention a timing delay from the pistons firing to the wheels turning. The larger the motion and energy ( in this example, the RPMs ), the bigger the loss in energy and motion transfer.
2nd, the link rods from pistons to crankshaft are placed at 90 degrees from one another around the crankshaft. The firing order of the pistons is 270 - 180 - 90 - 180. What this means for you as a motorbike rider is that your throttle has much more control of the rear wheel, allowing a steady, linear acceleration and smoother handling of the bike, even at high speeds.
Another innovation in 2009 Yamaha R1 motorbikes is a forced-air intake system. This system increases air intake potency by employing the natural airflow generated when riding to pressurize the air in the air cleaner box.
Yamaha has additionally adapted the chip-controlled throttle and intake technology from racetrack motorbikes. The result's a throttle response that is both instantaneous and exact. notwithstanding all of 2009 Yamaha R1 motorcycles' advantages and inventions, including great acceleration, glorious responsiveness, and heightened maneuverability, it has its drawbacks like any vehicle. Some owners report finding it to be uncomfortable when commuting or driving long distances. If you're looking to commute in comfort, go purchase a minivan.

Yamaha SubKick Low-Frequency Capture Device $399.99 The Yamaha SubKick Low-Frequency Capture Device is a new breed of subfrequency (below 100Hz) capture devices designed to bring out the natural sound of bass drums and floor toms. SubKick uses the natural microphonic qualities of a 6-1/2" woofer shockmounted inside a 7-ply birch/mahogany shell. Mesh heads are mounted on the outside, which adds a tiny bit of sustain. The natural resonance of the shell combined with the heads and loudspeaker create an awesome subfrequency sound that must be heard to be believed. The SubKick works great by itself or can be used together with other drum mics. An XLR output makes for easy hookup. The SubKick Device was designed by Yamaha Drum Artist Russ Miller, who was looking for a mic system that allowed the uncolored sound of the bass drum and floor toms to come through. Finally the full force of the drum set's low end performance is realized with SubKick.6-1/2" woofer (frequency response 20Hz-8kHz)10" black mesh heads7-ply birch/mahogany shellXLR output (no phantom power required) |
