Dash into the Snow with Wooden Pull Sled

All around the world, many of us experience snow especially when the cold comes inevitably, and what better way to take your children out for some fun in the snow than a ride in a wooden pull sled! For those countries that experience just a little snow for a short time each year it can mean an exciting and fun activity that the children look forward to all year. However for those countries that experience heavier snow for stretched periods throughout the year then the wooden pull sled can be a practical way to take your children from place to place.

A wooden pull sled can vary in design from hand crafted works of art made from expensive wood, to more basic designs available for the everyday consumer. In general thought the sled itself is made from wood, while the runners which help it glide across the snow are often made from a durable slippery plastic or stainless steel. The framework is low and wide to give ultimate stability and there is typically a high back rest complete with handrails on the sides for the child to hold on to.

As far as safety is concerned the sleds sold legally meet all safety requirements to be released on sale to the public. A stable structure with a partially enclosed area for the child to sit and hold on is about the only safety measure the company can create, but essentially the safety of the child is in the hands of the person pulling them. Some companies offer the option of a sled complete with padding or padding as an extra so look out for this if you going to make a purchase.

The cost of a wooden pull sled, like the design, can vary and often the designs of the sled and the price go hand in hand. As standard they start around $50 then add an extra $20 if you want the padding. For a higher quality sled you can be looking in the region of about $150 or more, but take into account the years of use and how often you are going to be using the sled before deciding on your budget.
