The Diesel DPF Dilemma

Many of the major manufacturers of diesel performance aftermarket products have tried to figure out an effective way to reverse the performance and fuel economy-reducing effects of the emissions control DPF device. Matt Snow and the diesel performance geniuses at Snow Performance have found a simple yet brilliant solution. A diesel particulate filter is designed to remove soot and other particulates from the exhaust gas stream. The filtered soot and particulates build up until the filter needs to be cleaned, a process call "regeneration". The product development team at Snow Performance already knew that pre-DPF diesels utilizing their Boost Cooler kits experienced decreased emissions of particulate matter and NOx due to increased combustion efficiency. Injected methanol acts as a combustion catalyst, meaning your diesel fuel gets burned more efficiently and more completely.
