Proper Storage of Your Snowmobile
Snowmobiles are a piece of equipment that generally gets used for a maximum of 4 months out of the year in many areas. That means that they must be stored for approximately 8 months out of the year. Taking extra precautions and preparations when storing your snowmobile for the warmer months will make it easier to enjoy the winter months with a fresh and maintained machine at the beginning of the season. Following are some basic rules and tips to follow when storing your snowmobile in order to ensure the maximum amount of enjoyment when the first snow falls in your area.
One of the most important things to remember when storing your snowmobile is that it should be stored in a climate-controlled space. Several storage companies offer this service if you are willing to pay for an ideal space to store your sled. If this is not possible, find a place that will have a minimum of temperature changes so condensation will not build up on or in the parts of your snowmobile. Before covering it and storing it for the warmer months, spray it down liberally with WD-40 because this will help keep the parts lubricated and protected during the months when it is not in use.
As for the gas tank, there are different theories as to the ideal amount of fuel to keep in your snowmobile during the storage months. Some owners have argued that a full gas tank will cause condensation and corrosion in your sled. Fuel also loses its potency after awhile, so if it is left in the tank for too long, it will no longer be functional. Others have argued that an empty gas tank during the storage season will prevent the fuel from deteriorating. If your snowmobile uses an oil mix, the mixture could also separate and cause other parts to become clogged if the mixture is left in the tank. The best thing to do is to read the owner's manual to find out what your specific snowmobile manufacturer recommends.
Snowmobile owners should also check the mechanical aspects and moving parts of their machine when preparing it for storage. These things are often overlooked at the beginning of the snowmobile season and the warmer weather of the storage season is more convenient for this type of preparation. Check each nut and bolt to make sure they are tight. If there are missing parts or things that need repairs, make the necessary repairs before storing the snowmobile. Also, remove the spark plugs and add a very small amount of 2-cycle engine oil in each empty spark plug cylinder in order to prevent them from rusting. Plug the openings on the snowmobile, such as the exhaust pipe, with an old rage to prevent condensation from forming on the inside of the pipe. Also, remove the seat to prevent rodents from forming a nest inside of it.
When the snowmobile season starts, the first thing you should do is to pull the start rope a few times in order to properly lubricate cylinder walls that house the spark plugs. You can then re-insert the spark plugs that you removed prior to storage or, even better, use new spark plugs. Be sure to check the fluid levels before operating your snowmobile because low or empty fluids could cause serious damage to the engine. Look for surfaces that have become scratched or nicked and touch-up the areas with rust-resistant paint. Letting a small area go without doing this could turn into a large bare area that is subject to rust and corrosion. Finally, add a coat of wax for optimum performance and reattach the seat properly before going on your first snowmobile ride of the new season.
Following these simple steps will help ensure that your snowmobile will ride properly for years to come. It is important to refer to your owner's manual in order to get a complete listing of what needs to be done with your specific model before storing it for a long period. Having an expert look over your sled at the end of every winter season could be costly and is often unnecessary. Many storage facilities offer areas and climate-controlled units specifically designed to fit the needs of snowmobile owners. With the proper equipment and preparations, however, your garage or storage shed can be the ideal and most cost-effective way of storing your snowmobile for the winter months.

Canesten Gyno 200 mg 3 tabl. $15.75 Canesten Gyno contains the active ingredient clotrimazole, which is an antifungal medicine used to treat infections with fungi and yeasts. Canesten pessary is a single dose treatment for vaginal thrush. Vaginal thrush is the common term for infections of the vagina with Candida species of fungi, in particular Candida albicans. This infection causes inflammation and discharge from the vagina. Clotrimazole kills the Candida fungi causing the infection by interfering with their cell membranes. It works by stopping the fungi from producing a substance called ergosterol, which is an essential component of fungal cell membranes. The disruption in production of ergosterol causes holes to appear in the fungal cell membrane. The cell membranes of fungi are vital for their survival. They keep unwanted substances from entering the cells and stop the contents of the cells from leaking out. As clotrimazole causes holes to appear in the cell membranes, essential constituents of the fungal cells can leak out. This kills the fungi and treats the infection. Canesten pessary is inserted high into the vagina to allow the clotrimazole to act directly in the area of infection. The pessary should be inserted into the vagina at bedtime using the applicator provided. The single dose pessary should clear up the infection inside the vagina. However, you may also want to use a cream on the outside of the vagina (vulva and labia) to help relieve the external symptoms of the infection, such as itching, inflammation and soreness. Clotrimazole 1% or 2% cream are suitable for this. See the end of this factsheet for available products. |

Lovette (Ovranette) µg EE/100µg levonorgestrel 3x21 Tabl $21.75 Lovette (Ovranette) tablets are a type of hormonal contraception commonly known as 'the pill' or combined oral contraceptive pill. Ovranette tablets contain two active ingredients, ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel. These are synthetic versions of the naturally occurring female sex hormones, oestrogen and progesterone. Ethinylestradiol (previously spelt ethinyloestradiol in the UK) is a synthetic version of oestrogen and levonorgestrel is a synthetic form of progesterone. Combined oral contraceptives like Ovranette work by over-riding the normal menstrual cycle. In a woman's normal menstrual cycle, levels of the sex hormones change throughout each month. The hormones cause an egg to be released from the ovaries (ovulation) and prepare the lining of the womb for a possible pregnancy. At the end of each cycle, if the egg has not been fertilised the levels of the hormones fall, causing the womb lining to be shed as a monthly period. Ovranette is a monophasic pill. This means that each tablet has the same dose of hormones in it. One tablet is taken every day for 21 days and you then have a seven day break from pill-taking. During your seven day break, the levels of the hormones in your blood drop, which results in a withdrawal bleed that is similar to your normal period. You start the next pack after the seven pill-free days are up, even if you are still bleeding. The contraceptive pill results in lighter, less painful and more regular menstrual bleeding. This means it is sometimes prescribed for women who have problems with particularly heavy, painful or irregular periods. . |

Champix starterkit 0.5 mg 11 tabl. and 1 mg 14 tabl. $95.75 What is Champix? Champix tablets contain the active ingredient varenicline, which is a medicine used to help people who are addicted to nicotine to give up smoking. It acts in the brain, but is not the same as nicotine replacement therapy. Champix (varenicline) is a type of medicine called a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor partial agonist. This means that it acts on the same receptors in the brain as nicotine does. How does Champix work? Champix works by stimulating the nicotinic receptors in the brain. This produces an effect that relieves the craving and withdrawal symptoms you can get when you stop smoking. At the same time, varenicline blocks nicotine from acting on the receptors. This prevents any nicotine inhaled in tobacco smoke from having a rewarding and enjoyable effect. However, it is recommended that you don't smoke while you are taking this medicine. You should seek help and support as much as possible while giving up smoking, even while taking this medicine, as this will increase your chance of success. Your doctor, practice nurse or local pharmacist can all provide this support. You should start taking this medicine while you are still smoking and set a 'target stop date' for within the first two weeks of treatment. This is because the medicine needs time to start working. The dose is increased gradually in the first week of treatment and the medicine is then taken twice a day for 12 weeks. If you have successfully managed to stop smoking at the end of 12 weeks, your doctor may offer you a further 12 week course of treatment. The tablets should be swallowed whole with a drink of water. They can be taken with or without food. |

Mercilon 0.02 mg 6 x 21 tabl. $35 Mercilon tablets are a type of hormonal contraception commonly known as 'the pill' or combined oral contraceptive pill. Combined oral contraceptives like Mercilon work by over-riding the normal menstrual cycle. In a woman's normal menstrual cycle, levels of the sex hormones change throughout each month. Microgynon 30 0.03 mg 6 x 21 Tabl. $29.9 Microgynon 30 tablets are a type of hormonal contraception commonly known as 'the pill' or combined oral contraceptive pill. The hormones also increase the thickness of the natural mucus at the neck of the womb, which makes it more difficult for sperm to cross from the vagina into the womb and reach an egg. They also change the quality of the womb lining (endometrium), making it less likely that a fertilised egg can implant there. Microgynon 30 is a monophasic pill. The tablets come in a calender pack marked with days of the week to help you remember to take a pill every day for three weeks, followed by a week off. You will still be protected against pregnancy in your pill-free week, provided you took all the pills correctly, you start the next packet on time and nothing else happened that could make the pill less effective (eg sickness, diarrhoea, or taking certain other medicines - see below). The contraceptive pill results in lighter, less painful and more regular menstrual bleeding. This means it is sometimes prescribed for women who have problems with particularly heavy, painful or irregular periods. |

They also change the quality of the womb lining (endometrium), making it less likely that a fertilised egg can implant there. Minulet is a monophasic pill. This product is no longer available, or not no longer in our assortment. Gedarel 30/150 63 tabl. $20.75 Marvelon tablets are a type of hormonal contraception commonly known as 'the pill' or combined oral contraceptive pill. Marvelon tablets contain two active ingredients, ethinylestradiol and desogestrel. These are synthetic versions of the naturally occurring female sex hormones, oestrogen and progesterone. Ethinylestradiol (previously spelt ethinyloestradiol in the UK) is a synthetic version of oestrogen and desogestrel is a 'third generation' synthetic form of progesterone. Combined oral contraceptives like Marvelon work by over-riding the normal menstrual cycle. The daily dose of hormones taken in the pill work mainly by tricking your body into thinking that ovulation has already happened. This prevents an egg from ripening and being released from the ovaries each month. The hormones also increase the thickness of the natural mucus at the neck of the womb, which makes it more difficult for sperm to cross from the vagina into the womb and reach an egg. They also change the quality of the womb lining (endometrium), making it less likely that a fertilised egg can implant there. Marvelon is a monophasic pill.
