Flights News On Aviation Sports & AVEX International Airshow Nov ,07,2010 Held In Cairo,Sharm El Sheikh International Airport
The final plans were at advanced stage and being formulated and the myriad of arrangements needed were being finalized for the opening on November 7 of the four-day Avex International Air Show to be held at the Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, in Cairo as this edition of World Airnews was being published.
Avex International Airshow 2010 is marketed by the organizers, Nausea, as the "Africa and Middle East regions platform for international aviation". Gathering key aviation decision –makers, AVEX focuses on the Africa and Middle East regions rapidly expanding aviation sector and aids business expansion, the formation of new client-partner relationships and cross border partnerships.
AVEX 2010 has attracted some of the world's largest aerospace companies such as Airbus, Bell Helicopters Textron, Boeing, Bombardier Aerospace, Cessna, Embraer, General Electric Aviation, Gulfstream Aerospace, Rolls Royce and Thales among others.
At the time of writing, the organizers had signed up over 80 main exhibitors with some individual companies hosting up to 20 companies they represent on their stands so the tally of exhibitors could well top the 200 mark by the time the gates open.
In all, exhibitors will be coming from 16 countries and, not surprisingly, the greatest number is from the host country,Egypt.Countries represented are: France,Turkey,England, the United States of America,Lebanon,Iran,Germany,Bahrain,Italy,Malta,Sudan,Pakistan,Spain,Libya and United Arab Emirates.
Boeing was quick off the mark with some pre-show publicity issuing a statement reflecting the rapid growth of the aviation industries of the Middle East and Africa, and forecasting a 7, 1% traffic growth rate in Middle East air travel over the next 20 years.
Martin A. Bentrott, the company's vice president, sales, Middle East, Central Asia and India, said:"The Middle East continues to outperform the rest of the world air travel growth and is poised to continue growing over the next 20 years. In fact, Middle East demographics, where over half the population is under the age of 25, favour continued growth since younger people will account for much of the future market."
"The Middle East is an extremely important commercial aviation market that is growing at a substantial pace. We are keen to support that growth by providing the right products at the right time," Bentrott said."AVEX is an important event for the regions aviation industry and we are proud to be able to support this initiative as a sponsor and exhibitor,"
According to a recent IATA report, Middle East carriers are expected to post a profit of $100-million this year, even as they gain market share by attracting increasing numbers of passengers from Europe to the Asia-Pacific region, through their hubs.
Boeing sees a requirement for 2340 new aircraft in the Middle East by 2029 and predicts that the market will continue to be dominated by twin-aisle, long-range aircraft, which will account for almost 43 percent of the demand.
Another major company to issue a pre-show statement was the US-headquartered General Electric Aviation. With GE and its partners having signed more than us$ 17-billion in deals at these years Farnborough Airshow, the focus continues to be on signs of an airline industry comeback.
Announcing GEs participation at the AVEX International Air show 2010, Muhammad Al-Lamadani, senior executive sales, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Commonwealth Independent States, said,"The Middle East and North Africa region announced limited order deferrals and cancellations in 2009 and 2010 as carriers went through the trough of the recession cycle with traffic levels in the region suffering to a lesser degree compared to other regions in the world. At the Farnborough air shows this year we saw some major aircraft and engine order announcements from some of our key customers in the region such as Emirates, Etihad, and Air Arabia."
Al-Lamadani continued: "GE has been keeping a close eye on the economic climate around the world to ensure our company can continue to meet customers changing needs and remain competitive. AVEX 2010 is one of the channels through which GE keeps in close touch with our customers."
As the global economy emerges from the economic downturn, the aviation industry is definitely showing signs of revival .According to media reports; the Middle East and Africa recorded the two strongest June international passenger traffic growths of any global region which is a positive indication of the continuing growth of these respective travel markets.
Meanwhile, Boeings latest Current Market Outlook forecasts the value of the airplane market in Africa to be us$80-billion with the Middle Eastern market size anticipated to be us$390-billion.
Cessna, Bombardier, Gulfstream, Eclipse and Embraer are five of the worlds leading corporate aircraft manufacturers, all of which will be fielding their latest and best hoping to attract some of the business which habitually results for the Dubai Air Show.
In fact, the "bizjet" is to have a show-within-a-show, the Custom Jet show catering for just this market. Taking place on November 7 and 8 alongside the AVEX International Airshow, the event format includes the Custom Jet Awards, which will honour outstanding achievements in various livery and interior design categories.
According to media reports, an increasing shift towards the personalization of aircraft is being witnessed; especially in the private and executive aviation industries in the MENA region. These often take the form of bespoke interiors, customized liveries and choice of in-flight entertainment systems.
With the personalized aircraft interiors market in MENA, Europe, India and Asia currently constituting us$1-billion per annum together with the anticipated growth in business aviation, the scope for further expansion in this industry is immense.
According to Bombardiers 2010 market forecast, the business Jet market is expected to exhibit strong increase from 2010-2029 with 26000 deliveries during this period.
